How the score is calculated

SeoJama runs 20+ checks across four categories — content & meta, technical SEO, social sharing, and performance — and weighs each by its real ranking impact. Critical failures (a page blocked from indexing, a missing title) cost far more than cosmetic ones, so the number reflects what search engines actually care about.

What's a good SEO score?

As a rule of thumb: 90+ is excellent and rarely worth chasing further, 70–89 is healthy with room to grow, 50–69 means real issues are costing you visibility, and below 50 means fundamentals are broken.

Context matters more than the number alone — a 75 with three high-impact failures left is a bigger opportunity than an 85 with only cosmetic warnings remaining. That's why the report always pairs your score with the prioritized list of what's left to fix.

Raising your score (and keeping it up)

Fix failures before warnings, and technical blockers before content polish — indexability problems make every other fix irrelevant. Re-scan after each change to watch the score respond.

Scores drift as sites change: a CMS update drops a meta tag, a new page ships without alt text. Pro plans re-audit your whole site on a schedule and chart every page's score over time, so a regression shows up in your dashboard instead of your traffic.

No. The score measures on-page and technical health — the factors you control. Rankings also depend on backlinks, content quality, and competition. A strong score is the prerequisite, not the guarantee.

Site changes routinely add or remove meta tags, redirects, or scripts that affect checks. Re-scan after every deploy — or let a Pro plan's scheduled audits catch regressions automatically.

Chasing 100 everywhere has diminishing returns. Get key pages past 85, eliminate all critical failures site-wide, and spend the remaining effort on content and links.
